Spotlight 1

August 4th, 2016: Dr. Catherine Kilmain presented her ideologies, thoughts, and advice to high school students on success, challenging themselves, and the importance of education. She has encouraged young female students to pursue a career in Math and Science through her presentations. Girls Connect is proud to award her a plaque on Outstanding Contributions in Promoting Female Leaders in Engineering.

Spotlight 2

April 30, 2016: Finalists for the ASTRO Challenge were invited to present their engineering designs for a plasma transportation device that could withstand a 20 ft drop. These finalists are high school students who show interest in real world problem solving applications. Their designs were tested and presented to the public. The finalists discussed their marketing strategies, budget plans, and design plans during their presentation. The winning team, PNAM, earned a 1st place plaque for their high school.
